Lebanon PA Relocation

Welcome to beautiful Lebanon County, PA! Here you’ll find rustic country backroads and bustling downtown streets. Lebanon County was settled in the early 1700’s by German immigrants who tilled the area’s fertile fields to produce a myriad of crops. This “Pennsylvania Dutch”(which by the way is really “deutsch” for German, not “dutch” as it has been accepted) heritage continues today in the attractive farms and excellent diary and pork products, in particular Lebanon Bologna, which has earned a large regional following.

Throughout Lebanon County there are numerous recreational opportunities in parkland and conservation areas. The Lebanon Arts Center offers gallery space and classes, and is managed by the Lebanon Valley Council on the Arts. The Union Canal Tunnel Park features over 100 acres of pristine meadows & woods surrounding the oldest transportation tunnel in America. The Tunnel, a National Historic Landmark, was completed in 1827. Visitors can walk the towpath, picnic at the mouth of the tunnel or climb trails alongside the canal. Another important landmark is Cornwall Iron Furnace, which featured prominently in Pennsylvania’s industrial revolution and is available to tour.

Other outdoor attractions include the Lebanon Valley rail trail. The trail will encompass one contiguous trail running through Lebanon county. Currently, the southern portion of the trail is open to hikers and bikers. You can enter the trail at the Route 419 access in Cornwall. Follow the path to Mt. Gretna and enjoy the renowned “Jigger Shop” before ending your day!
